G is for Ghazal - A New Life (A-Z Challenge - Letter G)

The shock is a chance for a new life
The clock ticks quickly to a new life

I stumble and I fall
I walk onwards towards a new life

I allow myself some selfish wishes
Dreams unlock chances for a new life

I believe in myself
I chalk it as victory in a new life

Hard work pays off suprisingly
A shock that I finally have a new life

This poem is a Ghazal form that is made up like an odd numbered chain of couplets. It has a refrain of one to three words
that repeat, and an inline rhyme that preceedes the refrain.
The rhyming scheeme is A
A bA cA dA eA.

  1. "Dreams unlock chances for a new life.../Hard work pays off surprisingly well," boy, this goes deep from within, excellent verse; I have not ever written a Ghazal form but have taken notice from you as to how the rhyming scheme expresses itself in the odd numbered chain of couplets...I could get used to this. Very nice Lisa. Best wishes.
