This form is called a Zedd Poem. Zedd poems form the letter “Z”. The first line states a truth about the title. Followed by single word couplets. The last line states what the title is not.

I'm VERY excited to announce that with this post I will have reached my goal of "100" posts for April! Now if I can just get the last new follower I need to break 100. I've been sitting at 99 all week long.

Friday Fill In

And...here we go!

1. I love to eat ice cream right out of the container!
2. Nothing makes people more paranoid than when you give them a wink and a smile.
3. It's how you love that leaves a legacy.
4. If it's bad news, just don't tell me!
5. Well, would you just fill up with water already!  Get it "well" - a deep hole with water in it.
6. "Jeepers Creepers" - a brand new line of spring peepers.
7. And as for the weekend, tonight I'm looking forward to having a glass of wine, tomorrow my plans include Zumba class followed by addressing, stuffing, and preparing for the mail 80 + graduation announcements for my College graduating Son and my High School graduating daughter and Sunday, I want to relax - I NEED that soooooo bad!

Y is for Yoda - Youthful

Friday Flash 55

When Is It Enough?

When 55 is a struggle to post
and the words just won't come out.

When all you want to do is cry
but instead you decide to shout.

When doing what is perceived as right
is an expecation that is unfair

When treating others well despite
it appears no one really cares.

Make a list of your favorite words today.
Write a poem that uses 90% of the words you wrote down.

X is for Xenia Epigram - Thankfulness

My simple words of thanks
Are often very quiet
They may come across as pranks
That sometimes spark a riot

Yet if I really focus
Keep the sarcasm felt at bay
Without the crazy hocus pocus
I’ll just apologize for the delay

Born Again In Christ
Ensures Your Destination

A Man (Three Word Wednesday)

A foolish man
Wanders through life
Wondering
What Could Have Been?

A smart man
Forges a new path
Dreams
Relishes Each New Day

A worthy man
Shows others mercy
Provides
Relief from suffering

You Are Like

You are like a gentle rain
Filling my life like a water main

You are like a blustery breeze
Swinging in like on your trapeze

You are like a sunny day
Forming me from dark and gray

You are like the green of spring
Raising my pulse like a growing thing

You are like a butterfly
Touching and making me liquify

W is for Wrapped Refrain - My Journey from A-Z

Complexity this journey held
For a challenge I felt compelled
Taking the easy way to me
A cop out that would surely be
While I often experienced perplexity
The chosen forms gave my blogging complexity

Astonishment abounded here
Often stymied by real fear
Kept on trudging diligently
In time became confidently
This journey found me writing with abandonment
My confidence growing strong with astonishment.

When My Clock Strikes Before Stopping

When My Clock Strikes Before Stopping

I read this writing from an amazing blogger Kim.

Check it out if you have time! So Profound!

ABC - Letter "O"

The Rule of Oct
If you have eight points you are octactinal
and that is factual

If you are recurring every eight days you are octan
and of that I am a fan

If celebrating the eight hundredth anniversary it is an octingentenary
a time to truly make merry

If you have eight eyes you are octonocular
you must look quite peculiar

If running a government of eight you have an octarchy
quite different from a monarchy.

So, following the rule of eight set up by men
Why, oh Why is October the month of ten

V is for Villanelle - Guiding Light of Love

Your love has become my guiding light
The past took its toll each day
I think of you and all seems right

My adoration grew strong at first sight
Who would think it could be this way
Your love has become my guiding light

The past left me scarred with an ugly blight
To ease the pain that now comes my way
I think of you and all seems right

Filled with angst I’ve learned what might
Become of me if I give control away
Your love has become my guiding light

Anxiety had kept me up at night
Who knew peace would come someday
I think of you and all seems right,

When my life’s adrift and feels uptight
You’re a lighthouse keeping fear at bay
Your love has become my guiding light
I think of you and all seems right

Asking for Forgiveness (For OSI and Sunday Scribblings)

I come to this hallowed place
Knowing that it’s a start
Asking for forgiveness
For the hardness in my heart

Look to you for guidance
After so much pain I’ve felt
How dare I try to question
The hand the Lord has dealt

I’ve been a poor example
Of a Christian woman’s role
The anger and resentment
Eroding at my soul

It’s time to try again
Let hurt and anger fade
Find the shine of love again
Instead of a masquerade

When The One Whose Hand

When the one whose hand you’re holding
Is the one who holds your heart
The life you share together
Will be magical from the start
By cherishing one another
And nurturing it as it grows
Love will blossom before your eyes
Like an innocent and pure white rose

Monday's Child #43 - Master Master

Illustration: Clara Burd

Master Master
What do you ask of me?
I’m ready for adventure
Please tell me what it will be

Will we climb a mountain
Or frolic in the field
Or will we fight a battle
A magic sword for you to wield

Will we search for rainbows
or chase foxes on the run
Or will we join a grand parade
With you it will be fun.

Master Master
What do you ask of me?
I’m ready for adventure
I wonder what it will be

LOVE the Beauty of Nature - NaPoWriMo #24 Challenge

Beauty is allover I am realizing
As I sit among the field of clover

Liberate Your Art Postcard Swap - Check This Out

I came across this challenge and had to share it with my friends.

http://www.kateyeview.com/2011/04/join-me-in-liberate-your-art-postcard.html

Here's an overview of the Liberate Your Art Postcard Swap:

WHO: Artists in any medium. Photography, painting, poetry, typography, jewelry, sculpture, knitting, cooking, illustration - you name it. If you can have an image of your art printed on a postcard, you are in! If you want to share a blog or website address, I'll have a list of participants posted on the Liberate Your Art page so you can find each other.

WHAT: You will send 5 printed postcards of your original art to me, along with your address and return postage. I will then swap them around and you'll receive 5 postcards from different artists mailed back to you over a period of a few weeks. (The email you receive once you sign up will have all of the details on what to do.)

WHERE: You don't have to go anywhere, and participants from all over the world are welcome! You will send your postcards to me in the US (I'll be moved back by then) and I'll mail them back out from there. Details for international participants will be included in the email.

WHEN: The postcards will need to arrive at my US address between July 5 and July 15.

WHY: To liberate your art into the world, where it can do the most good!

I've set a personal, crazy-big goal for this swap - I would love to have 200 participants from all over the world. Can you imagine, 1000 postcards of wonderful art, winging their way around the world? I can! But I need your help. Please share about this swap on your blog, facebook page, tweet it and get your friends to sign up too. If we reach this goal, I am going to do something crazy too - send a personal post card to each and every person who participates. I get excited (and a little scared) just thinking about it!

Show Not Tell Fiction Challenge

In 300 words or less, write a passage that shows (rather than tells) the following: you're scared and hungry, it's dusk, you think someone is following you, involve all five senses and include these random words: shimmer, saccadic, substance, and salt.

Wandering aimlessly down Beach Parkway, my stomach emitting sounds that I don’t remember hearing before. Gazing out toward the Bay, the vastness of the horizon holds my attention. The grandeur of the yellow ball of fire as it dips into the blue watery horizon is breathtaking, as shimmering streaks of light glide across the water. For just that moment I am transported to another time and place and the hunger is almost forgotten. The salty breeze begins replacing the otherwise calm sky and its remnants can be felt as a burning on my sunburned cheeks. Enough time spent dreaming of a simpler time and place, especially a life that is not destined for me.

My journey takes me to the familiar confines of a small cove. I slow my pace, as the hairs on the back of my neck begin standing on end. A pit forms in my stomach and I recognize the acidic taste of fear in my throat. Spinning around slowly I gaze from left to right. If someone were close enough to see my eyes the saccadic sight would give me away. Chuckling to myself at my own paranoia, I miss the telltale snap and crackle in the distance. My nose crinkled at the intensely sweet scent only seconds before the cloth soaked substance covered my mouth and nose. Then nothing, the world faded to black before I was even acutely aware of what was happening.

Simpler Time and Place

Images of days gone by
Of a simpler time and place
Reminds of how we should try
Life moving at a slower pace

Remembering times we united
Together after our eating
Conversation was ignited
A constant family meeting

Then we adjourned to another space
For wholesome family viewing
Someone in the catbird place
In case of rabbit ear redoing
