My Ticket -Sunday Scribblings

The voice has been quiet
Inspiration at a loss
Stress and responsibilities
Made writing like a cross

New artistic passion
Painting class helps me see
Opened up the more creative
I knew was inside if me

Trying something new
Despite the belief I would fail
Was just the ticket I needed
To open up my sail.

My creativity feels revived
My confidence renewed
Lookout discouraging world
I refused to be subdued.

Tomorrow (Sunday Scribblings)

If you knew Tomorrow wouldn’t come
What would you do?

Would you worry about what to wear?
Would you yell about the toothpaste cap?
Would you waste time on petty disagreements?

or instead

Would you say a prayer?
Would you say you are sorry?
Would you say I Love You?

Who knows if Tomorrow will come!

Surrender for Sunday Scribblings

You think you can play coy
Act like you have no feelings
When everything you do does show
Your emotion in all your dealings

Stop hiding behind your fear and doubt
Give in and just surrender
Take the chance to live and love
You don’t have to be a pretender

Asking for Forgiveness (For OSI and Sunday Scribblings)

I come to this hallowed place
Knowing that it’s a start
Asking for forgiveness
For the hardness in my heart

Look to you for guidance
After so much pain I’ve felt
How dare I try to question
The hand the Lord has dealt

I’ve been a poor example
Of a Christian woman’s role
The anger and resentment
Eroding at my soul

It’s time to try again
Let hurt and anger fade
Find the shine of love again
Instead of a masquerade

What Will You Choose?

You
decide
what to do.
It’s up to you
befuddled or not.
You must finally choose.
How will you reciprocate?
Will you in turn return the words
with a graceful and kind demeanor?
Or choose to conveniently stroll away?

Angel Mother ~My Messenger (PAD Challenge Day 3)

I have a special Angel
She’s a messenger to me
Although she isn’t by my side
Her spirit will always be

I know she’s there to guide me
When I feel the most alone
When I doubt if I can really
Really do this on my own

I know that all it takes
Is to simply close my eyes
And ask my special angel
Because I know she’s wise

She whispers softly to my heart
With words so sweet and true
The ones Mom used to say to me
I believe in you

I hope that when it’s my time
To leave my life on Earth
My legacy is like my Mom’s
So my children know their worth

Nearly Is Only Close Enough - Sunday Scribbling

Nearly is only close enough
If you are willing to merely settle

How many times in life

Has fear dictated your path?
Has expectations stifled your chance?
Has opportunity slipped away?
Has life just passed you by?

Nearly is only close enough
Are you are willing to merely settle

Obsession Free Life

When you begin to obsess
There are things you can do
With help you can handle it
Here’s some guidelines for you

Step back, take a break
Go ahead and cry
Reach out to others
Stop wondering why

Stay clear of her problems
Let someone else do the dealing
Write down all your thoughts
Don’t deny what you’re feeling

Stop trying to control
The life of another
It changes who you are
As a wife and a mother

Live your own life
Seek help if it’s needed
Accept rather then judge
Like you’d want to be treated

Reward yourself for having
Obsession Free Days
Only you can change yourself
Your obsessive ways

Live life in the present
Only glance back at the past
This is very necessary
If you want this marriage to last

Let go of the anger
Let go of the pain
You’ve got nothing to lose
You’ve got everything to gain.

Sunday Scribblings ~ Raw (#257)

When looking to explain to you
The meaning behind this word
So many different contexts arise
Demanding to be heard

From being in a natural state
Not processed or purified
To being imperfectly prepared for use
No polished or finished outside

The surface marked by irritations
Perhaps that's due in part
It lacks the proper covering
Naked doesn't seem so smart

Immaturely wandering down a path
Lacking experience - it is green
Susceptible to hurt and pain
From anything that's mean

Finally last but not the least
Refinements that are coarse
Not tempered unbridled passion
Describe this powerful force

FIRE

"Remember, you are not here to play it safe. You are here to start fires."
Sera Beak.

This quote to me is a reminder that "playing it safe" is just that "safe". I don't believe that I was placed here in my current circumstance to take the easy road but rather to make a difference. That difference may be something as small as a smile or gesture to a stranger. I strive to see the best in people and encourage them to see the best in themselves. By supporting others in random kind ways I hope to "start a fire" in them to do the same. Just imagine the impact if each of us started fires in a positive direction in another. The power of that challenge would indeed have far reaching socially redeeming value.

Life is full of so many opportunities to move into action.
Life is full of so many chances to make a difference.
Life is full of so many reasons to reach beyond.
Life is full of so many times to take the extra step.

What will you do with "your" life?
