"I" 160

I
Perceive
many things
I
Believe
therefore you see
I
Achieve
then wait patiently until
I
Receive

I
Inquire
about this world
I
Aspire
to great heights
I
Inspire
others until ultimately
I
Acquire

Monday's Child #47 - Triplet Trouble

Illustration: Maj Lindman

Fairy Godmother
Dressed in Pink
Waves her wand
Her words in sync

Triplets rise
On their rocking horse
Into the blue
As a matter of course

Triplet One
Is holding on tight
Triplet Two
Afraid of flight

Triple Three
Slipping towards the tail
Yellow Moon laughs
At this silly tale

Toxic Gossip Yadu Poem

Toxic Gossip
Damages Lives
Destroys Friendships
Causes Much Pain
Can Never Be Taken Back

Toxic Gossip
Words of Hatred
Bitterly Said
Hurtful Intent
Uttered By Those Who Are Weak

Toxic Gossip
Never Believe
These Little Words
Ugly Yet False
Never an accurate reflection

May In Our House - Flash 55

The Month of May
Has Been Busy In Our House
Our children have completed milestones
Our son graduates from college
A teacher he plans to be
One daughter finishes her Finance Degree
One more year for a double major
Another daughter graduates high school
College plans begin in the Fall
Besides that – It’s been slow.

Friday Fill In

And...here we go!

1. I see my cats sleeping peacefully on the couch.

2. They seem so very serence until suddenly they are up - they must scratch.

3. They begin hopping down because apparently scratching makes them hungry.

4. I can remember how little they were so many years earlier.

5. This I know: I can't imagine our lives without them - even when they drive me crazy.

6. As for me, we had Mexican food for dinner.

7. And as for the weekend, tonight I'm looking forward to catching up on my blogging that I have missed over the week, tomorrow my plans include Zumba class then working on the jeep with my wonderful husband and Sunday, I want to (well I don't want to but I have to) start deep cleaning before family arrives for the second graduation we have this May.

One Person's Dream - 3WW

I find myself in a familiar place
Yet one where I have never been
Somewhere I wish I could forget
For it is only in my dreams
This place is damp and musty
Of that I am quite sure
Even though I’ve never been
The image is crystal clear
In this nightmare place I go
I often slip and skid
Sliding down a steep dark hill
Towards somewhere I never see
The scene is always graphic
So real I often reach out
Sure that I can touch what’s there
Incensed by my inability
For some dreams are a blessing
They relish in remembering each
To me these are a curse from which
I’d give anything to be released

ABC - Letter R

The skies open up
The clouds break free
A deep black sky
As far as I can see

The rain pours down
The winds begin blowing
Hail falls heavily
It looks like it’s snowing

Sheet after sheet
Crashes violently down
Turns streets into rivers
All over the town

Branches are snapped
The flowers are shredded
The storm of the season
That has been dreaded

Fast as it came
It passes on by
It powerful destruction
You cannot deny

The Search - Magpie #66

Searching for your favorite book
In the non-fiction section
Is really rather simple to do
If you follow this simple direction

Many years ago was formed
A fancy organization
Created by Melvil Dewey
The Dewey Decimal Classification

When searching for the book you seek
Who’s author might be Crix
Just follow the numbers as they rise
Two Eighty Nine Point Six

Unhidden you will find your wish
Is waiting in the stack
Snuggled tight amongst it’s friends
See now you’ve got the knack

Monday's Child #46 - A Fishy Tale

Illustration: Carmen L. Browne

Standing on the sandy beach
Filling up my pail
Gathering up the perfect grains
My castle must not fail

When what to my surprise I see
A stranded lake of has formed
Left over when the tide went out
And now the sun has warmed

Traveling to the shallow surface
Tiny bubbles they are popping
Down inside this tiny world
I see some fish are flopping

It seems indeed this spot was perfect
Maybe not for what I sought
My purpose instead of gathering was
Save fish that were distraught

Surrender for Sunday Scribblings

You think you can play coy
Act like you have no feelings
When everything you do does show
Your emotion in all your dealings

Stop hiding behind your fear and doubt
Give in and just surrender
Take the chance to live and love
You don’t have to be a pretender

Tomorrow

When my life seems short
and I’ve lost my way
I reach down deep
and try not to stray
To remember that it’s true
when other people say
That For After All
Tomorrow is another day.

Sorry I've Been MIA

For all of those who have been following my blog and those who I follow.

I've been MIA for about a week now.

Nothing wrong - just have 2 graduations and have been busy busy busy.

Looking to catch up with some past prompts and promise to be more faithful after Memorial Day.

Beautiful Temptation - Succinctly Yours Week 8

We ventured out onto the beach at dawn
Armed with camera and journal
The crisp morning air has a bite to it
We bundle against the elements and we take just a few
short moments to enjoy the scene before us
Just a brief time is all we get even as the beauty
tempts us to become part of the scene.
Yet we know that anything more and
the opportunity will pass and the chance lost
The lighting is just right as the tide recedes
exposing the rock formations and other
life left behind to fend for itself.
The sky begins changing from pink to blue
The peaks on the waves create a foam
as they crash back to the water.
God’s magnificence cannot escape recognition
I am incredibly grateful to share it with
someone I cannot imagine living without.

Challenge: Use the photo as inspiration for a story of 140 characters OR 140 words
Include word of the week – tempt.

Discovery of Self - Verse in a Nutshell #11

A journey of self-discovery
One of the most important you’ll ever take
Taking the time to evaluate
Who you are and what is truly at stake

Giving credit where credit is due
Not just finding that which is flawed
Gives you a sense of positiveness
There is much of yourself that is awed

Take the good with the bad
Institute change that is right
Embrace growth with the knowledge
Then watch your dreams take flight

Toilet Space - Verse in a Nutshell #10

Round and round
The water does go
Round and round
To where don’t know
Round and round
In a swirling motion
Round and round
Like a small white ocean
Round and round
With each flushing
Round and round
Toilet water is rushing.
Round and round
A never-ending space
Round and round
In a porcelain vase

where he is found in the grass
A nocturnal animal
Yet basks in sunlight alas

While omnivorous he’s called
He prefers meat on his diet
It’s white spotted coat
He is somewhat of a riot

Monday’s Child #45 – Gemma and Emma

Illustration: G. Shepeard

Gemma and Emma
Sweet Dutch Little Twins
Dressed in matching hollands
And similar grins

Clad in their clogs
They are stopped on the track
By two tiny kittens
One gray and one black

Each stares at the other
The girls and the cats
Two and Two they do stand
Cats ears like girls hats

A standoff of sorts
Will end like no other
As kittens come home
Can we keep them, please mother

The Merry Month of May

In the merry month of May
In a morn by break of day
I’m seeking to find my way
In spite of what others say

In the merry month of May
The thought I’d like to convey
In this a well-mannered way
Is choose carefully what you say

In the merry month of May
I’ve decided to not turn away
Reform life like potter’s clay
By doing so I am half way

I Love You Because

I
Love You
Because You Make Me
Better Than I Was Alone
Together We Are Better
I’m Grateful That You
Love Me
Too

Memories - Verse in a Nutshell Day #7

A memory is a gift
That you can keep in your mind
Always close enough to touch
Whenever you’re inclined

A memory is the reason
People do not leave our heart
While they may physically pass away
We’re never really far apart

A memory is your chance
To enjoy the past again
When present is to painful
They can wash away the pain

Even if things don’t go as planned
Hold your head up high and smile
Choose to make it grand

Women of grace and of high style
Never let them see her break
Hold your head up high and smile

Happiness comes from give and take
Even when it means losing control
Never let them see her break

Set an example in every role
Leave a legacy by how you live
Even when it means losing control

Life is a opportunity so take it
Each day arrives in fine style
Leave a legacy by how you live
Must enjoy it for awhile

Know Monday will come soon enough
So I’m enjoying myself until then

The Royal Treatment (Three Word Wednesday)

She emerges from the car
Her eyes darting from side to side
Momentarily allowing a crack in character
Before returning to royal grace
Her veiled smile
Beauty personified
The gown understated elegance
A picture of confidence
Only upon closest inspection
The expected jitters manifest
A trembling hand the only indication
A thin line of sight ahead
Each step toward the fairy tale
Finally greeted by her Prince
With the words
“You Look Beautiful”

What Lies Beneath (OSS)

What lies beneath
the veil of black?
What secrets does
it’s folds hold back?

Eyes show doubt
and lack of trust
Such sadness at
a world unjust.

Or is the face
just a worn down mask
Weathered by the blistering
sand blasting task
