Ripples on Ice

Through the eyes of my mind
I do but see
Ripples of moisture
On the ice it must be

The layers of ice
Reflect back the light
Rings like an oak tree
A magnificient sight

The droplets they splash
Sparkle bright in the sun
That’s my guess for this challenge
Oh boy this was fun

New York – My New Chance (One Stop Poetry)

The city sprawls in front of me
As I look out at the view
I find myself bedazzled
Wonder if can this city be true

The lights that fill the buildings
Make the night sky glow as though
They’re diamonds that now offset
A sunset the color of Bordeaux

The city seems to spill out
In every imaginable direction
One building taller then the next
A magnificient collection

Can hardly wait for morning to come
A chance for a fresh new start
I’ve waited all my life it seems
Now finally I’ll exhibit of my art

Triolet – I Doubt Myself

I doubt if I can write this way

Perhaps though if I believe it

The voices chatter and they say

I doubt if I can write this way

Faith in me gets in the way

My confidence I omit

I doubt if I can write this way

Perhaps though if I believe it

This poem is written as a challenge write in a form called Triolets.

An early form of French Poetry dating back to the early 13th Century.
