Asking For Help From My Blogger Friends

Blogger friends,

I am wondering if any of you have recommendations for blog sites dedicated to posting fiction writing.  Does such a place exist?  I've started chapters in a story that I'd like to find a place to be able to "link up".  Maybe a site that would give prompts that could be used in the story.  I'm a little nervous to branch out in this direction with my writing but I'm feeling so compelled to not let this "moment of fiction clarity" pass.

Thanks for any assistance.

  1. Hello Lisa,
Thanks for stopping by my blog.

I've come across a few sites I think might assist you in your quest:

Stony River Microfiction Monday - 140 letters/characters only for the prompt.

Bifocal Univision - photo prompt goes up on Monday, post all week.

Thursday Tales - a phrase or photo to inspire you. Post all week.

Magic In The Backyard (free write Friday) - thoughtful & inspiring prompts each Friday. Write without boundaries.

Write Anything (Fiction) Friday - you get a month's worth of prompts all in one go.

I hope some or all of these can help. If I come across any others, I'll let you know.
    Best wishes in your endeavours,

  2. Thank you so much Andy. I'll check those places out.

  3. Wow all those links sound great! Lisa, how nice you're giving fiction writing a go! It's my passion. Best of luck on your path!

  4. This is great to hear and if you would like I would be willing to critique some of your work if you would like me to. I'm not a grammar guy but I feel I'm good with the general feel of the story. Good Luck to you!

  6. Very discouraged that I just read that anything you post on a personal blog will make it be considered to be Previously Published and therefore make it for difficult to publish. For those of you who have been published how did you get around that or do you just not post your "good" stuff on a blog?

  7. Oh that does sound discouraging Lisa...I would like to know what you find out...Those links sound wonderful! Good Luck!

  8. good luck...

do you mean fiction story, not poetry?

  9. i do a monthly writing contest at there is a muse every 2 weeks to write on, each writer gets a vote and there is a winner every time..

  10. I link to many prompt sites that do fiction on the LINKS page on my blog. Next time you visit, look for LINKS on the Header.

  11. I followed you over from G-man's Flash Fiction. I have just been doing prompts that go along with my writing as teasers. It's challenging and fun. I'm not sure how it will work, but its what I am trying right now. Check it out and see if it's what you might want to do.
