Beware Thoughts

Beware thoughts
that come in the night.
Their deep dark visions
can cause quite a fright.

Unlike thoughts
that come in the light
midnight perceptions
are not black and white.

These thoughts are a hue
of dark gray at best
Their meanings complex
too much to digest.

Solid advice has been given
to beware thoughts you must
Especially those that come
in the night – don’t trust.

  2. This was timely for me. I tore my rotator cuff the other day and was prescribed Vicodin. The drug warnings didn't include causing some really bizarre nightmares!

  7. Ah, so night thoughts are not only scary but irrational. Possibly true. Dreams can certainly be both. Interesting take on the prompt.

  11. Yes, often the night brings false truths
    disguised as our thoughts.

    Written with a Poe quality.
