Coal miner's baby
in the shadow from the hills
in the shadow from the hills
filled with Black Diamonds!
All smudged from head to toe
from ever present carbon
as steam rises from the hills.
Dame waits patiently
Safe return of man from the hills
filled with Black Diamonds?

Haunting. I visited West Virgina area when there was a coal fire in the mine below this little town. All the hills and even places in the town seemed to be smoldering charcoal.
