Monday's Child #48 - Garden Clowning

Illusration: by Vincent Mathy

All the garden vegetables
Gathered all around
Wondering what the commotion is
Up there off the ground

It seems to be a peacock
Yet no that can’t be right
It looks like Miss Asparagus
Tendrils are quite the sight

She’s branched out all the leaves
A colorful palate for all to see
Now she’s jumping up and down
Floats like a balloon would be

She’s causing quite the stir
The other’s all are frowning
All this attention can’t be good
Vegetables should not be clowning

Monday's Child #47 - Triplet Trouble

Illustration: Maj Lindman

Fairy Godmother
Dressed in Pink
Waves her wand
Her words in sync

Triplets rise
On their rocking horse
Into the blue
As a matter of course

Triplet One
Is holding on tight
Triplet Two
Afraid of flight

Triple Three
Slipping towards the tail
Yellow Moon laughs
At this silly tale

Monday's Child #46 - A Fishy Tale

Illustration: Carmen L. Browne

Standing on the sandy beach
Filling up my pail
Gathering up the perfect grains
My castle must not fail

When what to my surprise I see
A stranded lake of has formed
Left over when the tide went out
And now the sun has warmed

Traveling to the shallow surface
Tiny bubbles they are popping
Down inside this tiny world
I see some fish are flopping

It seems indeed this spot was perfect
Maybe not for what I sought
My purpose instead of gathering was
Save fish that were distraught

Monday’s Child #45 – Gemma and Emma

Illustration: G. Shepeard

Gemma and Emma
Sweet Dutch Little Twins
Dressed in matching hollands
And similar grins

Clad in their clogs
They are stopped on the track
By two tiny kittens
One gray and one black

Each stares at the other
The girls and the cats
Two and Two they do stand
Cats ears like girls hats

A standoff of sorts
Will end like no other
As kittens come home
Can we keep them, please mother

Feeling Quite Alive

Pink Pixie Patty
From flower to flower flies
Spreading pollen here and there
Traveling through the skies

Pink Pixie Patty
Flitters just the same
Speading magic pixie dust
With no particular aim

Pink Pixie Patty
Wings start again to beat
Heading out again today
There are others yet to meet.

Monday's Child #43 - Master Master

Illustration: Clara Burd

Master Master
What do you ask of me?
I’m ready for adventure
Please tell me what it will be

Will we climb a mountain
Or frolic in the field
Or will we fight a battle
A magic sword for you to wield

Will we search for rainbows
or chase foxes on the run
Or will we join a grand parade
With you it will be fun.

Master Master
What do you ask of me?
I’m ready for adventure
I wonder what it will be

Monday's Child #36

Under filtered yellow light
A story begins to form
Inside the mind of this small child
The world begins to swarm

Tendrils flowing forth at once
Like vines on crazy plants
Winding here and winding there
Imagination starts

Reality slips away so quick
In pillows soft and fluffy
Sleeping Beauty entralls the mind
Child sleeping that’s a toughie
